We created the kitchen in 2009. It has fitted units along one and a half walls. They were hand made in dark brown wood. The worktop is grey granite. There are cupboards and drawers below the worktop and cupboards and shelves above. There is a double steel sink with a single mixer tap (detachable head on a hose) and there is a five ring gas hob with an extractor hood above. At the left hand end of the worktop is a double eye-level electric oven and grill. Below the worktop is a dishwasher with matching wooden front.
There are shuttered windows on two walls – the larger, with three opening sections,, looks out onto the front terrace whilst the smaller, with two opening sections, looks out onto the kitchen garden and the land.
In the corner, between the two windows, is a cast iron wood burning stove mounted on a block of Maiella stone. Built-in hardwood bench seats lie below the windows and a standalone fridge / freezer is currently in the corner to its right. (Note the photo below was taken before the bench seat below the left window was built.)
A large vertically-oriented radiator is fixed to the wall opposite the two section window.
There are four power points on the kitchen walls and a further three above the worktop. There is a central ceiling light and a wall light between the windows. There are down-lights beneath the cupboards over the worktop.
